ADA EXAMS

For all that is best in dance!

The role of the Examiner is to uphold the standard and requirements of the syllabus. The role of the Candidate is to satisfy the Examiner to the best of their ability with the presentation of correct syllabus work. The responsibility of the Teacher is to ensure that the student is properly and correctly prepared for the examination in accordance with the syllabus.

GRADED EXAMS

Graded Exams are for students who are at a standard to perform syllabus work for an examiner and be graded based on their performance in the exam. Students will receive a report from their Examiner along with a certificate and badge/plaque depending on the grade completed. The full syllabus must be showed in these examinations.

CLASS PERFORMANCE AWARD (CPA)

ADA aims to encourage every student to keep working towards reaching the highest standard possible for their ability. CPA provides an opportunity for all students within their studio to be a part of the ADA Examination Session. Teachers will be able to tailor each group’s performance to showcase their student’s abilities and potential. The exercises that may be presented will be selected by the Teacher. Find out more here.

MAJORS EXAMINATIONS LINE (MEL)

The syllabus for Major Examinations is structured in four levels with the entire program being applicable to each discipline separately. These exams are designed for dancers to gain ADA teacher qualifications which allow them to teach the ADA Syllabus. Learn more about MEL here.

PRESENTATION AWARD

The ADA would like to introduce a Presentation Award for students with additional needs. This exam is available for students with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability.
Through this dance exam, the students (depending on their circumstances) learn to coordinate and control their bodies and the movement helps them develop spatial awareness. It will also aid in their listening and understanding skills and make them feel more inclusive in the studio environment. Read more about it here.
