FOR ALL THAT IS BEST IN DANCE!

WHAT WE DO

The Australasian Dance Association specialises in the teaching of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, AcroDance and Contemporary in Australia and overseas. Our syllabi are designed to teach your students from preschoolers all the way through to teacher qualifications.

Jazz dance focuses on technique, musicality, creativity, and expression, often incorporating more fluid, grounded movements, as well as sharper, more angular actions. Jazz features movements that explore contrasts in speed, strength, and fluidity, as well as the use of the body's natural lines and curves. Our Jazz Syllabus is set to modern popular music. Within our Jazz Syllabus, other styles are explored such as Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Contemporary, Latin and Hip Hop creating well-rounded dancers.

JAZZ SYLLABUS

Tap dance is a form of dance characterised by the rhythmic tapping sounds made by the dancer’s feet. These sounds are created by small metal plates (called taps) attached to the ball and heel of the dancer’s shoes. Our Tap Syllabus encompasses the many styles of Tap including Broadway, Street and Latin to name a few.

TAP SYLLABUS

Classical Ballet emphasises grace, precision, and flowing, expressive movements performed with strict technique. We offer 11 grades where students refine their skills and learn advanced steps as they progress. We also offer 4 levels of Pointe for our older dancers, introducing elegance and precision. Our Classical Syllabus also includes Character dance.

CLASSICAL SYLLABUS

Contemporary dance explores movement, musicality, and emotional connection, encouraging dancers to move with courage, creativity, and freedom. The ADA Contemporary Syllabus builds strength, agility, and technique through grounded work, weight shifts, and improvisation. It’s ever-evolving and deeply connected to rhythm, using diverse music genres to inspire dynamic expression and musical empathy.

CONTEMPORARY SYLLABUS

AcroDance blends acrobatics with dance, combining balances, tumbling, and contortion with jazz or ballet technique. It builds strength, flexibility, and confidence, enhancing choreography and dancer versatility. The ADA AcroDance Syllabus focuses on safe skill development with a strong technical foundation.

ACRODANCE SYLLABUS

Ada’s Little Gems is an imaginative program aiming to build confidence and introduce children to the world of dance. Designed for children from 2 years age, Ada’s Little Gems incorporates elements from Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, AcroDance, Mime and Movement into one program which helps to bring their creativity to life.
