Hi to all Members and Registered Teachers,
Here we are at the end of another amazing year! ADA is now 5 years old and 87 years young from the start of FATD!! On behalf of the ADA Board of Directors and Examiners we would like to thank you all for your support throughout 2018 and congratulations to everyone for the hard work and effort you put into your students’ preparation for their examinations and Awards Days. We are extremely proud with what you have all achieved with the revised syllabus for Classical Ballet. Thanks for all the responses to the survey – it was wonderful to hear your thoughts and we loved putting some of your ideas into action. The Board hopes the introduction of Class Performance Awards (CPA) in 2019 will encourage all your students to be a part of the next exam session. The responses to Majors Assessment Program (MAP) have been amazing!! Keep those suggestions coming as our main purpose it to help and support our Members!! I personally would like to thank the ADA Board of Directors and Examiners for their amazing support and dedicated work throughout this year.
Sadly, the Board of Directors would like to inform you that the wonderful Miss Mandy Noble will retire from examining and resign as the ADA President at the end of 2018.
Mandy has been an examiner for 32 years and served as a Director of FATD and ADA for over 20 years. During this time she has worked diligently for the Association, and it’s members interest has always been her top priority. She has played an integral part of our transition over the last 5 years and many things would not have been possible without her support, knowledge and passion for ADA.
We wish Mandy, and her husband Mark, all the best for the sea change they are about to embark on. It will be a wonderful and exciting new chapter in their life. (Brisbane, you will have an excellent ADA teacher and Mentor on your doorstep ???)
We know the members of ADA will join the Board in expressing their heartfelt gratitude and thanks for all that Mandy has done for the Association, our Teachers, Members and their students.
Congratulations to Lesley Scott from the Board of Directors on her appointment as ADA President.
ADA Board of Directors welcomes Nadia Vella who has been an amazing supporter of FATD and ADA for many years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board.
During 2019 Parys Vella will be mentored in the Organising Secretary position ready to take over at the start of 2020.
Queensland News
All Examiners that covered the Townsville, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Cairns and Brisbane examining tours were most impressed by the standard of all the students and the warm welcome. Keep up the great work teachers, an amazing effort!!
It was wonderful to have the Brisbane Awards this year on the Gold Coast – congratulations to everyone!! 2019 is heading back to Brisbane.
New South Wales News

Malaysia / Thailand News
A huge thank you to Jaruganya Amesbutr (Gye) for her help in co-ordinating Thailand and her contact with the teachers. Examinations were held in Bangkok (BK), Chiangmai (CM), Lamphun (LP) and Chiangrai (CR). New studios had their first exams in Uttaradit (UT) and Prae (PR). Thailand had their Inaugural ADA Dance Championships in July in Chiang Mai. Studios attended from Thailand, Kuala Lumpur and Australia. A wonderful time with Misses Noble and Fontana attending as well as Zoe Westh and Mylie Goodhew taking the Masterclasses. Congratulations to all involved for your fantastic organisation!! It’s always a pleasure to work with Gye and Mod in co-ordinating these events.

LOCATIONS – Not too late to do this if you missed it previously – this will help people to find your studio by using postcodes – login to your Home page – select Edit Details – If you manage a school tick the box next to that and fill in the information for your Studio – if you teach for someone else answer yes and select the studio in the drop down box.
SHOP – the online shop is now operational, using credit card or direct deposit payments to order all your resources.
